The junior section of the club is doing well with 32 members. On any given Saturday morning, 16–24 of these will attend the club session which is a high figure when compared to other clubs in Kent, with those absent often being due to their playing in tournaments, representing the county/region or doing regional training. The Juniors had a good season with Team 3 winning their division and seeing many novice juniors develop over the season into strong club players. We are running 2 teams in the South East League this Winter. First team is Division 1 run by Nick Peel. The second team is in Division 3. We entered two teams in the Winter South East Leagues this year with the First team finishing sixth out of nine, and the Second finishing eight out of ten. There were 21 players in the main draw for the Junior Closed Competition, with a mix of boys and girls this year which made it more competitive. Jack Peel beat Jed Wilton in the final 3-1, with Yemaya Philips beating Alice Hill 3-1 in the girl’s playoff. Overall it has been a very good year for the Juniors who have built on the successes of last year.
