Overall it has been a very good year for the Juniors who have built on the successes of last year. Numbers\u00a0have continued to grow with a total of 34 on the junior register now, from which 16 \u2013 20 attend the Saturday morning Squash Club and 6 \u2013 8 regularly attend the Monday night group training.<\/p>\n
The club has fielded 4 teams this season which reflects the strength and depth of the junior section. Teams 2, 3 and 4 are all expected to finish in the top 3 of their respective divisions. The first team have struggled in Division 1 owing to the team\u2019s ages, playing against quality 17\/18 year olds when the average age of our team is 14. However they have not been discouraged and we expect them to have a good season next year.<\/p>\n
On the county front, the club have been represented by 11 juniors which is a high number for one club. In addition our juniors regularly enter tournaments across England often winning their respective age groups which again reflects the strength of our juniors.<\/p>\n
Squash Camps are held over the holidays and have recently been concentrating on 7 \u2013 10 year olds from Roseacre School. From these camps, a mini squash section has been developed on Saturdays where there are 5 \u2013 8 regular members. Two of the parents have joined as members so as to bring their child to the club on non-junior days. Swadelands school also wishes to start a 6 week course on in April; the course is under the hub club scheme.<\/p>\n
Josh Masters has been Steve Frank\u2019s assistant with Rob Hammett filling in in his absence. Josh will be moving on to university in September and so will be replaced by Brad Masters who is sitting his Level 1 course this month.<\/p>\n
OTHER NEWS – April 2013<\/span><\/p>\n The club has also hosted several county training sessions and a Coaches Workshop which involved Paul Carter, ESR National coach.
